Spiritus Mundi

Spiritus Mundi was founded in Padua in 2016 to help improve the environmental conditions in the local area. The organisation is responsible for urban forestation initiatives to make the Po Valley greener and healthier, as well as educational activities to increase our awareness and understanding of true sustainability, fostering a collective consciousness with a deep respect for the environment.

One of SapiSelco‘s mottos is: “Our success is only achieved through respect for nature and mankind.” Every day, the company is committed to implementing actions that have a positive impact on the land and community, starting by raising awareness among SapiSelco‘s valued employees.

We were excited to join and support the “Il Bosco Vivo” (The Living Forest) initiative promoted by Spiritus Mundi because we believe in family values and respect for the environment.

Our success is only achieved through respect for nature and mankind

The Po Valley is unfortunately classified as one of the most polluted areas in Europe. Originally covered by dense lowland forests, it has undergone progressive deforestation over the centuries, creating space for unchecked urbanisation.

Il Bosco Vivo” was launched to transform abandoned or unused places into redeveloped areas, which can become green lungs and shared spaces for the community.

In addition to laying out an urban renewal and redevelopment programme for the Po Valley, the project also supports educational and practical initiatives to increase environmental awareness and social inclusion, highlighting the beauty of the land and the local culture.

The areas redeveloped from 2016 to today include:

  • Ponte S. Nicolò: an area covering 8,500 sqm is now home to around 1,000 specimens of native shrubs.
  • Polverara: 15,000 sqm of land has been planted with 2200 specimens.
  • Albignasego: 25,000 sqm of the municipal park has been redeveloped, including a 2,000 sqm wooded strip and five-a-side football pitches, basketball courts and games for little ones.
  • Limena: 24,000 sqm of land and 1,250 plants.
  • Legnaro: an area covering 35,000 sqm is now home to 1,000 plants made up of 10 different species of trees and shrubs.
